How to make social media graphic templates with Canva!

If you're as busy as I am, you don't want to be spending hours a day thinking of original things to post to social media.

But, if you're in a visual field like I am, you kind of need those outlets to show your work and projects off to your fans and potential clients!

One of the best hacks you can use is to use templates for social media posts, such as Instagram posts. Templates are great because they give your feed a branded, professional appearance, and you can make batches of them at a time.

Today I've made a video tutorial to show you how to make your own social media graphic templates using Canva!

I was recently making myself a batch of templates with Canva for Making Something Rad, and I realized it would be a great tutorial for others as well.

There are a bunch of amazing Instagram templates available on the internet, but you usually need Photoshop to use them. A lot of people I know don't own Photoshop and don't know how to use it, so they are missing out on the benefit of having these great templates to make social media easier.

Luckily, Canva is free and easy to use, even for beginners!

In this tutorial, I'm going to show you how to make a set of 8 social media templates. 4 of the templates are inspirational quotes, and 4 of them are picture holders. They all use the same format, but rely on using a cohesive color palette to make them look like a set. (I'll show you how to get a color palette in the tutorial too!)

It's easy to swap out pictures or paste in new quotes, so you can use the templates over and over.

I love making these tutorials, even though I'm super busy with the startup! I shot this video this morning after dropping my youngest son off at school, and edited it in the lobby while my oldest son was having his weekly therapy session. (He's fine, just a teenager!)

Please let me know if you have any questions, and as always, I'd love to see what you make with this tutorial! You can tag me on Intsa - @makingsomethingrad

Here are links to the stock photo sets I used for the title image and the dummy content in the social media templates! These are my affiliate links for Creative Market - but I love these products and I can verify they are beautiful, high quality images.
